An old piece I created on April 15th, 2010. My first attempt at making a gas giant. Came out very different from what I had expected. In a way it looks nice, but it's more of in a cartoon way I think. So it's not very realistic.

Indeed a bit cartoonish, but hey, my first gas giant ended up the same way;)

What i suggest is you take more different tones of colour closer together, and instead of making round storms, making them a bit more stretched,and smaller;)

But nice work, i like the colours a lot!! looking forward to more stuff from you;)

Oh and my pc does work a bit, but need do to some stuff before i can install photoshop.. so,,;)

Thanks for the tips! I'll make sure to keep it in mind next time I try a gas giant. I don't really have any upcoming ideas where I'll use a gas giant. They don't seem to be my thing, but in the future I'll make one.

There indeed very hard and need some practise by anyone.. tho dont give up;)

Gas giants are very noticable so it's hard to use them, i suggest to use them only as small planet so they wont be to distractive;)
maybe if you take a look at hubble pictures from nasa, or discovery channel, maybe you'll get ideas?:)

Sure I will. So far I haven't done any yet. I wanna get better with perspective so I can make planets feel like they're huge. Then I'll make a gas giant that looks huge and have something in the foreground. Don't know what yet lol

Hehe yeah! I'll need to focus more on making a new texture. But like really focusing. Not just a picture and that's it. Gonna have to edit it a lot to make it into a gas giant's texture. So it's gonna take me a while. And I need to find something inspiring to take a picture of that'll be a good base for the texture.
