Panorama by AdrienCGD Panorama by AdrienCGD
Done in late May 2010 with PhotoShop CS2 in about 2 hours.

I was inspired by a bunch of space artists that kept making really subtle space scenes where there was almost no light except for at the light source. I also wanted to practice my sunrises and involve other colors than the classic blue so I added green.

Wallpaper pack includes:
1920x1200
1680x1050
1440x900
1280x800

I really like the darker color scheme on this and the subtle detail of the stars! Great job!

Glad you like it! I wanted to try something a bit more subtle because I tend to overuse light in my space art lol

Looks good;)

The green is definetly something different, looks more like an hostile area with high radiation.!!

The texture on the big planet is very nice with it's little bright details

Yeah I was tired of blue! (and so are a lot of other space artists) and I didn't wanna make it red because it always end up pink :o
But that's definitely true that it makes it look like there's a lot of radiation. Btw one of my friends told me I could've worked on the nebulae. It's true, but I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I know it doesn't have much depth/texture to it, but I'm sure there's more to it than that.

well, some artists make a nebula look like this: [link]
and i think what your friend means, is, the clouds you see in it, seem a little, out of place, (of you focus on it)
The clouds seem to be in a vast open space, whilst i think there should be more things visible, more different tones and depths, shades highlights;)

But the composition and placing of the stars is good;) and well, i cant create a nebula looking like the example either;)

good luck with that!

Dang, no wonder it got a DD! :o Yeah that's kinda what I thought about my nebulae, it's just once color and is completely flat. I really rushed it. What I was trying to do is use that new cloud texture that I made. But I didn't wanna use any other ones. Gosh I hate it when I'm stubborn like that lol Anyways I got some other space works with much more depth to it. But it's not as good as the piece you showed me. But hopefully I'll get to that level soon! :)

Hehe I'm glad you think so! I don't know if it's DD worthy though. But I got a few more projects coming up! I don't think any of them are good enough. Even if I like some and would give them a 4/5 stars, I still want one to be 5/5 so it can be a DD lol

Haha yeah! But when you look at DDs they're all amazing and better than your average good space art out there! It's annoying that there's so many super good awesome artists out there! But we'll become like that soon!

This actually feels like the big planet is moving forward and in a matter of seconds the sun is going to be eclipsed totally :O The colour is pretty refreshing too 8-)

Hehe thanks! At first I tried to do that but I thought it didn't work too much. Do you think I could've used the motion blur somehow to give it some motion, somehow? Glad you like it though! Yeah whenever I get stuck with blue, I think about our conversation and always try to add more and/or different colors. Especially my two latest ones, one has 6 colors in it and the other 3 or 4. But I have a long list of ones to upload first so it's gonna take me a while before I get everything uploaded.

I wouldn't add motion blur - that's only good for smaller, faster moving objects zipping right past the screen :sprint: planets move fast but their huge size make sit look like a slow process so I don't think motion blur would be neccessary ;p

Blue space art can still look cool, one of my fave blue space scenes is [link] which was made well and truely after tons of other blue space art, so it didn't break any new ground in regards to colour and content, but done well it looks awesome still 8-)

You're right, motion blur is best for smaller objects like tiny moons or comets or debris. Two days ago I made a new space art where there's one planet and it has a bunch of moons and I motion blurred two of them (the others were too tiny to notice) so it feels like they're either pulled into or out of the sun (which you can see the light it's shedding but it's not there. (A bit like Shedding the Light, but more powerful with more colors)

Wow that is a really nice blue space scene! But if you notice carefully, you can see a little bit of colors here and there. Like the rings are a bit purple, the nebulae is a bit red/orange, and the planet is a bit green. Haha no wonder it got a DD! Sounds like something I could do in about two hours because it seems simnple, but for some reason I can't give it that feeling... I guess that's why I still have much to learn and immprove on before I get my first DD. lol
